Ms. Nada Badruddin
Occupation: Research Officer (Entomologist)
Institution: Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)
Work experience in FRIM (March 2004-Current):

- Conducted studies of captive breeding of fireflies, funded by IRPA.
|
|
- Co-leader in the Project of Monitoring the Firefly Population in Selangor River, funded by Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS).
|
|
- Working together with other researchers from different units in FRIM in an integrated study on fireflies.
|
|
- Conducting field studies on the fireflies in their natural habitat.
|
|
- Conducting laboratory based research on the biological aspect of the fireflies.
|
Other involvement:
|
- Provide consultation services to British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC) during their filming of a documentary on fireflies in Kuala Selangor. Synchronous fireflies of Malaysia will be highlighted in the documentary.
|
|
- Technical and scientific advice given in the publishing of a coffee book table entitled: Mysteries and Magical World of Fireflies: Kampung Kuantan Kuala Selangor.
|
|
- Technical and scientific advice given in the production of a videography entitled: Mysteries and Magical World of Fireflies: Kampung Kuantan Kuala Selangor.
|
|
- Helped the organizer of save endangered animals campaign from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Damansara in preparing information relating to the fireflies. The campaign was entitled “Save the Fireflies”.

|
Conducted a course on introduction on fireflies to boat operators of Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park. |
|
- Gave a briefing on the fireflies to the His Royal Highness, The Selangor Sultan, during his royal visit to Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park in Kuala Selangor.

- BSc. Applied Entomology (Hons.) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (1999-2003).

- Currently undertaking postgraduate studies in Universiti Malaya (2006-Current):
